Feeling Crabby

This cheerful little crab amigurumi is part of the free amigurumi pattern group on Flickr.

Actually, that title might be a little misleading. See, I'm not actually feeling crabby per se; not entirely awake and a little bit on the short-tempered side, yes, but that's easily cured with a cup of coffee. Otherwise, I feel just peachy.

However, thanks to the submission of reader Nikki, I am feeling in the mood for some crab hats. Let's do that, shall we?

Starting off with Nikki's pic, she says:

"Here I am trying one on at the Sea Life Center in Seward, Alaska. I believe I will add it to my collection next time I'm there."

Nikki, that is an excellent plan and you should feel excellent about it. Also, you're awesome.

Next up, we've got this floppy little number worn by freeandflawed, who seems to be a little confused as to whether it's actually a crab hat or a lobster hat. But I'm thinking it's a crab hat, so in the post it goes!

Executive decisions: I can make them from time to time. Especially if I've had enough coffee.

Bet you didn't realize there were so many different kinds of crab hats before this post, did you?

To be fair, neither did I. But this crab hat is just one of the many different kinds you can find out there.

I've never been to a quilting retreat (as that I don't quilt, but whatever,) but if they've all got crab hats like this, I might just have to take it up.

And finally, for those of you who prefer your crab hats to look more like an honest-to-goodness crab, we've got this:

Were you surprised? This guy definitely looks surprised.

And that's it for this week. Thanks again to Nikki for her pic, and have a great weekend, Internets!
