On Your Head Is On My Mind

Well, when you're doing a post about a shop entitled On Your Head, there is no
other way than to kick it off with a print like this one. Believe me--I tried.

It's been a while since I did a post solely devoted to one milliner/haberdasher, hasn't it? I ask this because I've just come across a shop on Etsy that I really do think is worth its own post, and dang it--I'm gonna post about 'em today.
What shop is this? It's called On Your Head, which should at least go down in history for having the most apt name for a millinery ever conceived. As a quick perusal of their shop will show, they make stuff that, well, goes on your head; namely, fascinators and mini-hats.

But really, it's what they'll make to put on your head that is so richly deserving of being shared here. And frankly, there is no better way to get to it other than just getting to it, so here we go:

Bird cage veils may be all the rage right now, but On Your Head can actually make you a mini-hat that has an actual bird cage on it, complete with a freakin' escaping bird.

Okay, so the bird is fake, but whatever. And who would want a real bird, anyways?

And that's just the tip of the iceberg, Internets. Let's see what else they've got:

...And a rather nifty little beehive mini-hat, complete with (also fake) bees...

...And there's even a fascinator featuring a grasshopper. Say what you want about butterflies and bees, but it's not often that grasshoppers get any love from the milliner crowd.

And just because I love how absolutely out there this last one is, here's a fascinator with a heartfelt message for us all:

And that message is to follow your heart. Why that is represented as a heart escaping from a cage is beyond me (is there an Italian proverb about uncaging your heart that I'm just not aware of?) But still, I like it. And hopefully you like it, too.

And on that note, I'm out of here. See you next week!
