All I gotta say is this: nothing helps illustrate perspective quite like a line of matryoshka dolls.
Hey, remember Monday, when I linked back to last year's April Fools post? Well, when I was looking over that old post, it got me thinking about amigurumi and the fact that I haven't done another post like that since then. Mostly because, um, this is a blog about hats and amigurumi--while admittedly adorable--are decidedly not hats, and while I do occasionally step away from hats from time to time, I do actually try to at least stick with things that are meant to be worn.
The reason I bring this up is because you know how something comes to mind, and somehow just by thinking about it, it gives you such a hankering that nothing else sounds anywhere near as good? Yeah. That's why today's post is about amigurumi.
First up, there's this adorable little flask, which also doubles as a paperweight. So not only is it decorative, it's legitimately useful, too.
And just because I know all too well how popular Adventure Time is, I found this amigurumi pattern for Beemo, Jake and Finn's anthropomorphic gaming system. Which, I gotta admit, might just be my favorite character in the whole show.
Speaking of gaming, I have never played PS3's Little Big Planet, but I am impressed with all the detail on this Sack Boy amigurumi. I mean, just look at the zipper on this thing.
And just because I know somebody out there is going to appreciate this, here's The Doctor's sonic screwdriver in amigurumi form:
And yes, I know that a sonic screwdriver is technically not a doll. However, if you have any complaints, I suggest you address them to this lady:
Granted, I don't know what kind of damage crocheted brass knuckles would do, but I'm willing to guess that it would soften the impact of the person throwing the punch. Not sure what it would do for whoever is on the receiving end, though.
And on that note, see you Friday!

I have to admit: the "brass knuckles" intrigue me!
