Nero Wolfe Would Love This Post

Hey--it was either this print, or a Georgia O' Keefe print.
Either way, today's amuse-bouche was going to be rather to-the-point.

...Or he would, if he weren't a fictional character.  In any event, today's post is all about those flowers from the family Orchidaceae.  And to start this off proper, here's a rather lovely orchid fascinator:

Although I have to admit that it's hard to call whether it's the sparkly bits on the orchid or the fact that the pattern on the main part of the fascinator is made of a birdcage veil overlay that really makes this awesome.

Aw, screw it--they both make it awesome.

Next, there's this purple orchid pillbox-style fascinator, which looks like it neatly splits the difference between Ladies That Lunch and Happy Hour.

And before you ask, yes--there are going to a few fascinators today.  In fact, here's another one:

Also, for those keeping track, this is also the second fascinator that involves birdcage without actually being a veil.

And just because it's not often I find some serious art-nouveau-type-stuff, here's an orchid headpiece:

And I heartily suggest you embiggen that, because it it worth seeing it in as much detail as possible.  It looks like it got swiped from some lady in a Théophile Steinlen advertisement or something.

And on that note, that's it for this week.  See you Monday!
