Yeah, this is a FAQ kind of page.
So what is this blog all about, exactly?
Well, it's pretty much what it says on the main page: This blog is about appreciating and sharing creative/cool hats, as well as celebrating those who have the daring to wear them.
If this isn't a snark blog, why does it have the word "heinous" in the title?"
This is covered amply in the bit entitled So...why "Heinous"? And I'm not kidding about the "amply" part, either.
Hey--I have a great idea for a hat for you to make! Could you make it for me?
...Um, I am not--nor have I ever been--a haberdasher/milliner. In fact, the extent of my skill of the textile arts are as follows:
- I sewed a backpack in seventh grade Home Ec, and it stayed together long enough to get me a B. Then it majestically fell apart like the Bluesmobile in the original Blues Brothers movie.
- During a misguided attempt to teach me how to crochet, I crocheted a chain that was a serious contender for The World's Biggest Waste of Yarn.
- My past attempts to mend clothing have involved staples, Kra-Z glue and safety pins.
Therefore, any hat featured on this blog was decidedly not made by me. I just write about them, and the world is much better off for that.
However, before you get all crestfallen and stuff, take heart; I link back to wherever I found the hat in the first place, and seeing as the majority of them are found on Etsy, you can always ask the seller if they would be interested in making one for you. As to whether or not they will is entirely up to them.
I'm thinking about starting a blog of my own. Got any advice?
Believe it or not, I do, and it's all covered over at For Those Who Are About To Blog, I Salute You.
